NORTHEAST GLENDALE -- Car lovers descended on Verdugo Park Sunday for

the eighth annual Jewel City Kiwanis Club of Glendale Charity Car Show.

The show featured more than 350 classic vehicles -- from stock cars

and hot rods to antiques like Glendale resident Scot Sertic’s 1921 Model

T Roadster.

“It’s completely original,” Sertic said. “The car’s been in my family.

My grandfather got it from his father, who got it from Henry Ford, I

guess.”

Sertic doesn’t like to approach the car as a museum piece. He still

drives it around, and says it runs perfectly.

“Top speed is about 40 miles per hour,” he said. “With the wind behind

you and going downhill.
