GLENDALE -- Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Glendale) is requesting nearly
$90,000 in federal funding to help pay for programs to be offered by the
Glendale YMCA’s proposed teen center.
Schiff is asking the House Appropriations Committee for $89,690 to
provide tutoring, mentoring, computer labs and a homework club for Your
House, the YMCA’s proposed after-schoolcommunity teen center.
The center is expected to open in September at 140 N. Louise St., and
will offer tutoring assistance six days a week for teens who are referred
by local agencies or schools.
The center’s start-up funding will support direct services to more
than 600 teens.
