Glendale College’s Community Services Education program is offering
several online courses beginning June 13.
The classes are six weeks long with lessons on Wednesdays and Fridays.
GCC offers the courses through the company Education to Go, which
provides online courses to colleges throughout the United States.
Course subjects are primarily computer and Internet-related, along
with some small business, personal enrichment and paralegal classes.
Computer courses for $49 each are Introduction and Intermediate
Microsoft Word, Introduction and Intermediate Microsoft Excel,
Introduction to Microsoft Access, Introduction to PC Troubleshooting,
Windows File and Disk Management, PhotoShop Basics, Quicken for Windows,
Introduction to Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Publisher and
Introduction to Microsoft Works.
Introduction to Visual Basic 6.0 is offered for a course fee of $69.
Internet courses are offered for $49 each in Introduction to the
Internet, Creating Web Pages (HTML), Advanced Web Pages, Creating Web
Graphics, Java Programming for the Web, CGI Programming for the Web, Java
Script Programming, Microsoft Front Page, Dreamweaver and Marketing Your
Business or Organization on the Internet.
Also, A+ Certification classes are available for $89 each. They
include Basic A+ Certification, Hardware, Intermediate A+ Certification,
Operating Systems and Advanced A+ Certification, Hardware/OSII.
Start a Home-Based Business and Marketing for Small Businesses are
offered for $69 each.
Personal enrichment courses are also $69 each. They are Writerrific:
Training for Writers, Debt Elimination Techniques, A to Z Grant Writing
and Introduction to Natural Health and Healing.
There are also three courses in the Paralegal Certification Program
for $189 each.
The only requirements to take an online class is a modem, minimum 486
PC computer, course software when applicable, Internet access and an
e-mail address.
There is an online orientation and the lessons may be accessed after
noon on the start date. The next six-week session of noncredit online
courses begins July 11.

FIRST SUMMER SESSION BEGINS
The first summer session of college credit courses at GCC begins
today. The session will end July 6.
Registration is under way for the second session, which is July 9

Courses offered in the second session include those in the general
subjects of Armenian, Art and Photography, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese,

Geology, Health, History, Humanities, Internship, Italian, Japanese,
Journalism, Math, Media Arts, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education,

Speech, Student Development and Theatre Arts.
