CITY HALL -- The City Council on Tuesday paid tribute to

Harley-Davidson of Glendale owner Oliver Shokouh for his lengthy service

to the community.

Shokouh is the creator and promoter of Love Ride, the annual

motorcycle charity event that has raised more than $14 million for the

Muscular Dystrophy Assn. and the L.A. Times Reading By 9 program.

“Oliver is known as somebody who has given hundreds of hours of his

time to community service in the city of Glendale,” said Mayor Gus Gomez,

who presented Shokouh with a commendation.

“It’s a fun event to put on, and I’m glad it benefits all the people

that it does,” Shokouh told the council.
