Man steals truck as owner opens gate

NORTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are looking for a man who stole

a truck while its owner was opening a driveway gate a few feet away.

A man left his Ford Ranger running in the driveway while he got out of

the truck to open the driveway gate at about noon on Wednesday, police

said. He left the keys in the ignition and the driver’s side door open,

according to the police report.

Another man hopped into the truck, reversed out of the driveway and

drove south on Ridgeway Drive, according to the report.

The victim told police the man was walking on the sidewalk when he

pulled into his driveway, police said.
