‘King and I’ auditions March 2

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Foothill Summer Theatre will hold auditions
for its summer 2002 production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s “The King and
I” on Saturday at La Canada High School, 4463 Oak Grove Dr., La Canada
Flintridge.
The group is celebrating its 21st year of presenting full-length,
completely orchestrated musical productions for local young people
between the ages of 10 and 20.
Director Marlys Marsteller, Choreographer Melinda Gillman and Musical
Director Dan Kerr will head the production. It will include professional
costumes, set design and a full orchestra.
Auditions will be from 9 a.m. to noon for those 15 to 20, and from 1
p.m. to 4 p.m. for 10 to 14. Callbacks are scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday,
March 3.
Participants must bring their own audition music but an accompanist is
provided. The singing audition is required but a dancing audition is
optional. The “King and I” production commitment is from June 27 to
Aug. 4.
