ROBERT MARK DELEONARDIS III
Robert Mark DeLeonardis III, 50, a former Glendale resident, died
March 4, 2002.
Mr. DeLeonardis was born Feb. 3, 1952, in Pasadena.
He attended Incarnation School and Notre Dame High School. He was
awarded the Regents’ Scholarship to UC San Diego, and earned a Ph.D. in
physics from USC in 1981.
He was an aerospace systems analyst for 25 years with Aero Space Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; parents, Raymond and Marcella;
brother, Edward; sister-in-law, Alice; and nephews, Stephen, Michael and
Andrew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St.
Anastasia Church, 7390 W. Manchester Ave., Los Angeles.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.

JAMES T. CUNNINGHAM
James T. Cunningham, 80, a longtime Glendale resident, died Feb. 27,
2002, in a Glendale hospital.
Mr. Cunningham was born in Canada.
Prior to retiring, he was a director for 56 years with Mission to
Children.
He is survived by his wife, June; daughter, Cathy Cunningham of
Glendale; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Little Church of the Flowers,
Forest Lawn, Glendale.
Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Glendale.
EMERSON J. ‘EMMIE’ COLDWELL JR.
Emerson J. “Emmie” Coldwell Jr., a longtime La Crescenta resident,
died March 1, 2002 at his home.
Mr. Coldwell was born March 13, 1917, in Boston.
During World War II, he was a technical sergeant with 3035th Army Air
Force Base Unit in the South Pacific. He served in Bismarck Archipelago,
Luzon, Southern Philippines and New Guinea.
He was an independent backhoe operator and owner of Coldwell &
Coldwell from 1955 to 1984.
Mr. Coldwell was a member of the Royal Order of Moose, Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 1614, Air Force Assn., HighlandPark Friendly Seniors,
Highland Park Senior Glee Club, Glendale Adult Recreation Center and was
Santa for the Highland Park Seniors.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gladys “Gaye”; daughters, Dukh
Niwaran Kaur Khalsa Whipp, and Cynthia Gaskell and son-in-law Ron Whipp
-- all of Santa Cruz; grandson, Michael Whipp; sister, Dorothy Coldwell
Victoreen; brother-in-law, Vincent Victoreen of La Crescenta; nephews,
Stephen Himmelrich of Atascadero and Gregory Coldwell Himmelrich of Simi
Valley.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the La Crescenta
Presbyterian Church, 2902 Montrose Ave.
