Congratulations to all the local citizens that got suckered into
voting to raise all our property taxes for Glendale Community College.
Less than two weeks later, the California Assembly approved a pair of
education bonds totaling $25 billion, of which community colleges would
receive $1.84 billion.
While these bonds still need to be voted on, I find it difficult to
believe that the board of GCC did not know about this potential source of
additional revenue. Should these state bond issues be passed, the GCC
allocation should be reduced by $98 million and that money diverted to
Glendale grade schools.
