Resurrection is message
for Church at Angeles Crest
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Pastor Jon Karn will deliver the sermon at
10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Church at Angeles Crest. Based on John 20:10-31,
his topic is “Stop Doubting and Believe: Three Sightings of a Resurrected
Jesus.”
The service is at Paradise Canyon Elementary, 471 Knight Way, La Canada Flintridge.
Children and infants are always welcome at the service and can attend
Too Cool Church for Kids while their parents enjoy the sermon. Each week,
the Angeles Crest Band presents new twists on traditional hymns.
The next Bible study is on the book of Ephesians, and it will meet at
7 p.m. Wednesday at a church member’s home. For more information on this

Resident receives summer
research stipend grant
GLENDALE -- Jeanette Reedy Solano of Glendale has been awarded a
summer research stipend grant from The Louisville Institute -- A Lilly
Endowment Program for the Study of American Religion.
Her project is titled “Encountering the God of Life in the Streets of
East L.A.: Latino/a Popular Religion.”
Solano is an assistant professor in the Department of Comparative
Religion, Cal State Fullerton. A 1984 graduate of Glendale High School,
20th in her class of 650, she was presented the Oakmont Scholarship and
the Glendale Soroptimist Citizenship Award.
A graduate of Occidental College, she earned her master’s degree and
doctorate from The Divinity School, University of Chicago. She is the
daughter of Dorothy and Gerry Reedy, lifelong Glendale residents.
Catholic life seminar
planned at Incarnation
GLENDALE -- A “Catholic Life in the Spirit” seminar is being planned
April 13 and 14 at Incarnation Catholic Church, 1001 N. Brand Blvd.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the seminar continuing
from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event continues from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. on
Sunday.
Teachings and testimonies of how the Lord has changed people’s lives
will be presented.
This seminar is sponsored by The Heart of Jesus Catholic Charismatic
Prayer Community.

‘Whatever Things
Are Lovely’ is topic
LA CRESCENTA -- The Rev. Beverly Craig, senior pastor, will present
the message, “Whatever Things Are Lovely” at the 10 a.m. Sunday service
at La Crescenta Church of Religious Science.
Church school is offered for young people 4 through teens
simultaneously with the church service. Child care is available.
