Message is ‘When In Doubt...Pray!’

GLENDALE -- The Rev. Bonnie Rowsell of the Glendale Church of

Religious Science will speak on “When in Doubt...Pray!” at the 10 a.m.

Sunday service.

A 15-minute meditation is at 9:30 a.m. Children’s Church for those 5

to 12 is at 10 a.m. Child care is provided.

Pastor speaks on Abraham at Sunday service

LA CRESCENTA -- Pastor Mark Copeland will speak about Abraham and

strong encouragement at the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday at First Baptist

Church at La Crescenta.

Sunday School classes for all ages begin at 9:15 a.m. Child care is

also provided during the Sunday School time and worship service.

The Men’s Ministry Team is having a Men’s Breakfast at 7:30 a.m.

‘Desert Bloomed With Me’ is sermon topic

LA CRESCENTA -- “The Desert Bloomed Without Me” is the sermon planned

by the Rev. Kathryn McDowell for the 10 a.m. service Sunday at La

Crescenta Church of Religious Science.

Church school is offered for young people 4 through teens. The classes

occur simultaneously with the church service. Child care is provided.

‘Emmaus Road’ is title of morning worship

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The Rev. Charles G. Schepel, senior minister,

will lead the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday with his sermon “The Emmaus

Road” at Church of the Lighted Window.

The scripture readings will be Acts 2:14a, 36-51 and Luke 24:13-35.

The Chancel Choir will perform “Christ Is Risen” by Paul Sjolund.

Joseph A. Klice will accompany the choir on the console and conduct the

children’s choir with “Sing Unto the Lord a New Song” by Stanley Smith.

Heart of Jesus community has Mass, healing rite

GLENDALE -- A Mass and healing service is planned by The Heart of

Jesus Catholic Charismatic Prayer Community at 7:30 p.m. April 19 at

Incarnation Catholic Church.

GLENDALE -- Congregation Hugat Haverim (Circle of Friends) will have

its monthly Reform Jewish Shabbot services at 7:30 p.m. April 19 in a

private home.

Ancient civilizations discussed in program

GLENDALE -- Archeology of the Holy Lands is a free class offered by

the Glendale Community College Lifelong Learning Seminars program.

The class is from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays at the GCC Life Skills

Building, 1500 N. Verdugo Ave. Registration takes place in the classroom

and the class may be joined at any time through June 14.

The instructor is Patricia Depew, who has a bachelor’s degree from

Chapman University and master’s degree from Liberty University in

biblical studies.

There is a $10 fee for parking per semester.
