Celebration will honor Leslie C. Brand

GLENDALE -- The Brand Library and Art Center will pay homage to its

namesake Saturday with a celebration.

The event will honor Leslie C. Brand, who left his home and land as

public facilities to the city of Glendale.

The event is free and open to the public. Those interested in

attending should arrive by 10 a.m. Saturday at the Brand Library and Art

Center, 1601 W. Mountain.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a 15-minute guided walk to Brand

Cemetery in Brand Park, including a stop at the Brand pyramid.

A tour of the Brand Library and Brand home will begin at 11:30 a.m.,

and birthday cake and punch will be offered in the Gallery courtyard at

noon.

A video documentary of the Brand legacy will be shown between noon and

5 p.m.
