Griffith Park music concerts begin Sunday

GRIFFITH PARK -- The Symphony In The Glen will begin its ninth season
of free Sunday afternoon classical music concerts this Sunday.
A “Masks and Masquerades” children’s workshop will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Sunday and teach children about the Commedia Dell’arte tradition.
Artists will be available to paint children’s faces in the Commedia
style.
The orchestra concert will begin at 3 p.m.
Both the children’s activities and concert will take place near the
merry-go-round in the old zoo picnic area of Griffith Park, 4800 Crystal
Springs Drive.
The event is free and open to the public.
Sunday’s season opening performance will feature Beethoven’s “Symphony
No. 4,” Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella” and Toch’s “Pinocchio.”
Those who attend are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic lunches.
Symphony In The Glen was founded in 1993 as an independent, nonprofit
organization.
