Circle of Friends gathering for Reform Jewish service
GLENDALE -- Congregation Hugat Haverim (Circle of Friends) will have
its monthly Reform Jewish Shabbot services at 7:30 tonight in a Glendale
home.
Cantor Harvey Lee Block leads the service.

Message is ‘The Black Door -- Fear or Freedom’
GLENDALE -- The Rev. Bonnie Rowsell of the Glendale Church of
Religious Science will speak on “The Black Door -- Fear or Freedom” at
the 10 a.m. Sunday service.
A 15-minute meditation is at 9:30 a.m. Children’s Church for ages 5 to
12 is at 10 a.m. Child care is provided.

‘Spirit Power’ topic at Church of Lighted Window
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The Rev. Charles G. Schepel, senior minister,
will lead the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday with his sermon “Spirit
Power” at Church of the Lighted Window.
The scripture readings for the morning will be Acts 2:1-21 and John
7:37-291. Chris Husa will be in the narthex to greet worshipers.
The Chancel Choir will perform “I Will Sing with the Spirit” by John
Rutter. The choir is directed by Dr. Harold Daugherty and accompanied by
church organist Joseph A. Klice.

Ancient civilizations discussed in program
GLENDALE -- Archeology of the Holy Lands is a free class offered by
the Glendale Community College Lifelong Learning Seminars program.
The class is from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays at the GCC Life Skills
Building, 1500 N. Verdugo Ave. Registration takes place in the classroom
and the class may be joined at any time through June 14.
The instructor is Patricia Depew, who has a bachelor’s degree from
Chapman University and master’s degree from Liberty University in
biblical studies.
There is a $10 fee for parking per semester.
