WINNERS IN A STRETCH

Share

Two R.D. White Elementary School students traveled and dined in grand

style Monday -- the fruits of being the top fund-raisers for

technology-related needs at their school. Children at the school raised

several hundred dollars selling household items. The top priority for the

funds is to buy ink cartridges for school printers. The entire school

participated in the four-month program, which was organized by R.D. White

technology chairwoman Kelly Hume. Fifth-grader Tayra Quinones, 10, and

third-grader Sharleen Sherafatian, 8, were picked up at their school in a

beautiful black limousine donated by Art Executive Service. The happy

pair were accompanied by R.D. White Principal Suzanne Risse and

teacher-specialist Christie Brown. In keeping with the high-class spirit

of the event, the limo whisked them to The Castaway restaurant in

Burbank, where they were treated to a gourmet meal at the elegant

hillside restaurant. The Castaway donated the meal to the school.
