Trying to beat the heat
Glendale residents took time out from a hot day to go swimming
during recreational swim hours at the Hoover High School pool
Wednesday. The high temperature for Glendale was 96 degrees
Wednesday, National Weather Service weather specialist Stuart Seto
said. Partly cloudy skies are expected as a moisture surge from the
southeast is expected to move through Glendale over the weekend and
through Tuesday. A new safety tip released by the National Weather
Service is to reduce protein intake during hotter days. According to
reports, proteins may increase metabolic heat production and can also
increase water loss. Temperatures in Glendale were about 84 degrees
this time last year, Seto said.
