‘Sweet Smelling House’ is sermon topic
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Pastor Jon Karn will deliver his sermon
titled, “A Sweet Smelling House,” based on John 12:1-11, at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at The Church at Angeles Crest, which meets at
Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge.
The church is also sponsoring a Firm Foundation class from 7 to
8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Higley’s Coffee House, 714 Foothill Blvd. The
class will address pertinent issues surrounding the Christian faith.

Summer Bible study continues
GLENDALE -- A free summer Bible study is being offered by Pastor
John C. Jenkins from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the First Southern
Baptist Church.
Under the title “The Life Beyond,” Jenkins will discuss such
topics as “Understanding Death,” “The 2nd Coming of Christ -- Our
Blessed Hope,” “The Resurrection of the Body,” “The Disembodied
State,” and others. The series will continue through Aug. 28.

Message is ‘Divine Order Prevails’
GLENDALE -- The Rev. Bonnie Rowsell of the Glendale Church of
Religious Science will speak on “Divine Order Prevails” at the 10

A 15-minute meditation is at 9:30 a.m. Children’s Church for those

Lutheran Church offers Bible school
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- “Bug Safari” is the theme for Lutheran
Church in the Foothills’ Vacation Bible School from 8:45 a.m. to noon
Aug. 19 to 23 for youngsters in kindergarten to sixth grade.
Fees are $25 for the first child, $20 for the second child and $15
for the third child. Scholarships are available.

GLENDALE -- The First Southern Baptist Church in Glendale is
offering a free summer Bible school for children and adults from 6 to
