JAMES F. MURTA
James F. Murta, 84, a longtime Glendale resident, died Aug. 9,
2002, in Garden Grove.
Mr. Murta was born May 11, 1918, in Los Angeles.
He served in World War II with the Army Air Corp as a corporal
with the 211th Army Air Force Base Unit.
Prior to retiring, he was a switchman for Pacific Bell.
He was a member of the Jewel City Camera Club, 8th Air Force 2nd
Air Division Assn., Telephone Pioneers of America, Communications
Workers of America-honorary life member, and had served as Scout-
master with the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Mura is survived by his daughters, Eileen C. Murta of
Huntington Beach and Marian K. Murta of Moscow, Idaho; sons, Glenn of
San Francisco and Gary J. of Valencia; and grandchildren, Sarah,
Daniel, Elizabeth and Benjamin.
Private services were held.
Kiefer & Eyerick Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
JOHN ALLAN WILSON
John Allan Wilson, 80, a longtime Glendale resident, died Aug.
21, 2002.
Mr. Wilson was born in Toronto, Canada.
Prior to retiring, he worked for 36 years with Pacific Telephone,
and later was a real estate salesman for Dorn Platz Properties.
He was a member of the Shadow Hills Gospel Hall in Sun Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian; son and daughter-in-law, Jay
and Vicki Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Ardon Adamson of
Council Bluff, Iowa; sisters, Olive Anderson, Kathleen Grane and
Betty Smith; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Forest Lawn
Mortuary, Hollywood Hills.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the
Hills, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.
