Damon’s Steakhouse sold, employees say

Employees of Damon’s Steakhouse on Brand Boulevard announced to

the City Council on Tuesday that the popular Glendale landmark has

been sold.

Workers Aaron Geyer and Gloria Borne spoke before the council,

asking city officials to encourage the restaurant’s new owners to

work with the existing employees union.

The Damon’s Steakhouse property, which has housed the well-known

Polynesian-themed restaurant for 65 years, is now in escrow, they

said. The steakhouse has been on the market for about a year.

Further details on the sale were not available by press time.

A complete story about the restaurant’s sale and new owner will

appear in Thursday’s News-Press.
