Resident receives art grant
Glendale resident Olga Seem has been awarded a grant of $16,000
from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation for her work as a painter and
mixed-media artist.
Seem, a part-time art faculty member at Los Angeles City College
who teaches oil painting, uses mainly plants as subjects for her
work.
Over the past 30 years, Seem’s work has been exhibited in numerous
venues, including the LIMN Gallery of San Fransisco, the Randall
Erickson Contemporary Art Gallery in Palm Springs and the William D.
Cannon Art Gallery in Carlsbad.
The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Inc. provides financial assistance
to artists of established ability through the generosity of the late
Lee Krasner, an abstract expressionist painter and the widow of famed
artist Jackson Pollock.
