Storytime hours canceled
LA CRESCENTA -- The La Crescenta Library will not hold story time
hours during the first two weeks of February.
Story time hours resume at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 with the showing of
“Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.” The animated movie was released
in 2002. Refreshments will be served. There is no cost to attend.

Infant, child CPR taught by Red Cross
GLENDALE -- The Glendale-Crescenta Valley Chapter of the American
Red Cross is holding an instructional course on infant and child CPR
on Saturday at its headquarters.
Students will learn how to perform CPR on infants and young
children, and recognize when CPR needs to be performed. The class is
from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $30 per student. The
chapter is at 1501 S. Brand Blvd.

Water board to meet today
LA CRESCENTA -- The Crescenta Valley Water District Board of
Directors meets today at the district office.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. The district is at 2700 Foothill
Blvd. Agendas are available in the glass case in the front office, or
online at www.cvwd.com. Minutes and agendas from previous meetings
can also be viewed on the Web site.

Boddy house artists include potter, painters
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Descanso Gardens is hosting three artists
Friday through March 6 at the Boddy House.
Work by Louise Forbes, Jim Yurk and Margot Lennartz will be on
display. Forbes work includes paintings on wood and oil paintings.
Yurk is an award-winning potter. Lennartz will showcase oil paintings
of California landscapes.
The Boddy House is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Descanso
Gardens is at 1418 Descanso Drive. For more information, call
