Montrose Coffee Bean to hold grand opening
MONTROSE -- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has opened in Montrose.
The cafe opened May 19 at 3701 Ocean View Blvd.
A grand-opening celebration for the new coffee hub will be 11
a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7. Live entertainment, free samples of food and
drinks, and coffee and tea demonstrations are planned for the event.
Prizes will be awarded to the first 200 guests. A Quiznos Subs is
scheduled to open in the same building at a later date.
Chamber kicks off series of seminars
MONTROSE -- The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce will
kick off a series of small-business seminars with a discussion about
banking at work from 7 to 8 a.m. Wednesday at Citibank, 2350 Honolulu
Ave.
The event, which costs $5, is open to the public, and coffee and
doughnuts will be served. Reservations must be made by Tuesday.

Seminar on business promotion
GLENDALE -- Glendale-based Service Corps of Retired Executives
will lead a business seminar on publicity, promotion and advertising
from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 4 at the Small Business
Administration’s Business Information Center, 3600 Wilshire Blvd.,
Suite L-100, Los Angeles.
The seminar will focus on how to make a community aware of a
business at minimum expense. Bob Rains, former vice president of
publicity promotion and advertising at Universal Pictures, will lead
the event.
Cost is $20 at the door.

Cards at Montrose Verdugo chamber
MONTROSE -- Blue Star cards are available at the Montrose Verdugo
City Chamber of Commerce.
The cards can be displayed by family members who have a loved one
in the military.
