JUNIOR BASEBALL
Shakey’s Pizza 11, Mauerhan Plumbing 1: Shakey’s pitchers Philip
Moses, Sean Carroll and Parker Haleen combined to throw a no-hitter
Wednesday at Dunsmore Park.
Third baseman Danny Huddleston and David Suh helped keep Mauerhan
Plumbing hitless with exceptional defensive plays. Moses paced his
team’s 10-hit attack with two doubles.
Carroll, Joshua Lee and Danny Stickar also had two hits apiece.
Stars 11, Trotta Floor Covering 9: Trotta fell just short of a
victory Wednesday night. Perry Gallagher hit a grand slam for Trotta.
MAJOR BASEBALL
Glendale City Employees 7, Glendale Police 3: Pitcher Travis
Feldman picked up the win, and Andrew Pita led the hitting with three
singles. Brandt Bowers had a double and a single, and Feldman had two
singles.
Joe Primo added a double, and Eric Jauffret, Matt Ashby and Colin
Duplessis all singled. Michael Timpson and Karsen Reedy had two
singles apiece for the Police. Mason Holland also had a single.
Glendale Firemen’s Club 9, Trotta Floor Covering 2: Tavin Robie
paced his team’s attack with a double and two singles. R.J. Morris
earned the win on the mound.
Scott Morrow had a double and a single, and Morris, Robby Seibly
and Matt Miller all singled.
For Trotta, Brian Casey and Justin Rapose each had two singles.
Kyle Booth and Garry Dowse also singled.
Landry’s Sporting Goods 2, High Temp Metals 1: Jake Lehne tossed a
complete game to get the victory. Kyle Cota had a double, and Troy
Mulcahey, Nick Dragovich, Lehne, Ronnie Verna, Keith Jackson and Adam
Overgaard all singled.
Myles Neimeyer had a double, and Lonnie Kauppila and Trevor
Boynton singled for High Temp.
Trotta Floor Covering 12, Glendale Police 6: Trotta won its third
straight game against the Police. Brian Casey took the win on the
mound.
Garry Dowse had a triple and a single. Tyler Schloessmann doubled
twice, Joey Sedano had a double and a single, Justin Rapose had two
singles, Kyle Booth doubled and Vigen Nersesian had a single.
For the Police, Mason Holland had a double and a single. Brandon
Frost had two singles, and James Heinemann, Bobby Coffin and Karsen
Reedy all singled.
Gangi Builders 3, Glendale Firemen’s Club 3: Gangi scored three
runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game, and it stayed
that way after a scoreless extra inning. Kenny Dacher led Gangi with
two singles.
Carlo Monasterio, Niko Horwith, Martin Rivera and Jack Hempel all
had singles. Mike Bako had two singles for the Glendale. Scott Morrow
had a double and a single, and Nathan Grau and Grant Sclafani each
singled.
High Temp Metals 11, Trotta Floor Covering 0: Pitcher Jeff Roberts
notched the victory, and Jason Cheung supported his teammate with two
doubles and a single. Ryan Eberhart had a double and a single, Lonnie
Kauppila had three singles, and Zack Torres and John Salas each had
two singles.
Tyler Martinez, Roberts and Cole Kendall all had singles. Kyle
Booth, Garry Dowse, Tyler Schloessmann and Chris Suh all singled for
Trotta.
Glendale City Employees 10, Gangi Builders 5: Brandt Bowers and
Matt Ashby combined to throw 11 strikeouts in the victory. Bowers
sparked the offense with a triple and a single, and Andrew Pita added
a double and two singles.
Joe Primo and Nail Nolan tripled. Eric Jauffret had two singles
and Travis Feldman had one.
Carlo Monasterio had two doubles, and Anthony Tellache, Kevin
Chase, Martin Rivera and Matt Anson all singled for the Gangi
Builders.
Landry’s Sporting Goods 7, Glendale Police 2: Pitcher Jacob
Hoogenhuizen went the distance to get the win. Teammates Jake Lehne,
Kyle Cota and Adam Overgaard had two singles apiece. Troy Mulcahey,
Nick Dragovich and Hoogenhuizen all singled.
For the Police, Karsen Reedy and Trevor Johnson each had a single.

PIXIE SOFTBALL

Prometheus Blueberries vs. Bright and Brown Bright Blues: Marissa
Glidewell and Danielle Barry did a great job fielding for the
Blueberries. Erin Salmi and Tracey Andrews had nice hits.
Hennon Surveying & Mapping Surveyors vs. You Go Girls: Hannah
Martinez and Sammi Campbell had three hits apiece. Brenna Gay had two
doubles and Sarah Hughes scored three runs.
On defense, Sarah Borland made four putouts and Madison Johnson
made a great play to end the game.
ROOKIE SOFTBALL
Trumark Real Estate 9, Orchid Park 0: Trumark played its most
complete game of the season. Sarah Olson and Cailan Howey combined to
pitch for Trumark. They were supported by the defense of Sydney
Weinberg.
Kelly Trueblood paced the offense with two home runs, and Laura
Emmons and Grace Korkunis hit well. Rebecca Whalen added a double.
McDonalds 10, Countrywide 4: The Yellow Jackets were led by
Stephanie Bathke’s two home runs. Monica Pernecky also hit a home
run, and Alison Yoon had a key double.
Rebecca Villalpando, Shannon Lee, Emily Valencia, Lauren Schirmer
and Jordan Pearse all had run-producing hits. Fine defensive plays
were turned in by Courtney Chen and Pernecky.
Sports Medicine 7, El Cholo 6: Abby Davitt led Team USA with a
two-run double and a great defensive play at third base. MacKenzie
Dodge, Madison Hathaway and Greta Gibbens also contributed to the
offense.
The biggest highlight of the game was Kelsey Drange, who made two
unassisted put outs at home plate in the last inning.
Trumark Real Estate 15, Sierra Leasing 10: Sarah Olson, Kelly
Trueblood and Rebecca Whalen all did a great job in the circle for
Trumark. Cailan Howey, Stephanie Ferri, Grace Korkunis, Ana Dewar,
Laura Emmons, Alessandra Orlandini and Sydney Weinberger provided the
offensive power.
Lynn Gilmour, Annie Monroe, Drew Donaldson and Megan Swartslander
led Sierra Leasing.
JUNIOR SOFTBALL
Locker Realty 17, Cavedweller Production 8: The Liberty Chicks
exploded for seven runs in the third inning, which was topped off by
Rochelle Terman’s home run. Chelsea Meeks was dynamite behind the
plate.
Annie Hart contributed a timely hit and Anna Hause scored two
runs. Maddy Morey hit a grand slam for the Green Beans. Mary Young
contributed a three-run home run.
Alexa Barsamian pitched three great innings and Carrie Blanton had
a strong hit.
Campbells 21, Cavedweller Production 6: The Chicks scored five
runs in the third inning on timely hits by Megan Lane, Grace O’Hara
and Malia Maile, who also drove in two runs. Annie Hart made her
debut as a pitcher.
Alexandra Van Wie made a couple of defensive plays that limited
extra bases. Tia Chen was one for two with two runs scored. O’Hara
had a wonderful game with two hits, including a double.
Kenzie Campbell, Meg Seibly and Rita Neat all reached base four
times. Kayla McCue struck out two in one inning.
Muller Commercial Masonry 11, Cavedweller Production 2: Courtney
McCutchan and Brooke Mulligan did an excellent job in the circle to
lead their team to the win. Carly Grandolph, Caitie James, Mulligan
and McCutchan provided the power hitting, with McCutchan blasting her
fourth home run of the season.
Casey Forgey, Gretchen Muller, Audrey Bittner, Gracie Bywater and
Emily Selsor were great on defense.
SWR Sound 9, Locker Realty 5: Maggie Kraft had her best hit of the
year and drove in a run. Sidney Smith turned in a great effort at
second base. Michelle Varraveto also had a strong hit.
Campbells 12, SWR Sound 10: The Pepsies tried hard to overcome a
seven-run deficit, but they fell short in the bottom of the last
inning. Katherine Ring played a terrific game at first base, Rebecca
Singleton scored a key run, and Elizabeth Weinberger went three for
three, driving in four runs with two triples.
Kate Hansen and Kristen Hernandez each had timely doubles. Ring,
Hernandez and Weinberger made dazzling plays on defense.
Alex Antonoplis struck out nine in three innings for Campbells.
Greer Gibbens and Kayla McCue had doubles, Rita Neat had a triple and
Antonoplis hit a home run.
Cavedweller Production 11, Descanso Dermatology 5: The Liberty
Chicks put it all together and earned an important victory. Shannon
O’Hara sparked the offense with two hits, two runs batted in and
three stolen bases.
Megan Lane delivered a couple of singles, scored twice and knocked
in three runs. Tia Chen showed great control and accuracy in the
circle.
Theresa Wulke had a home run and pitched well.
Anchor Pacifica 11, A Noise Within 7: Gabrielle Badie played well
at first base and turned in a strong pitching performance for
American Kryptonite. Alexandra Brown drove in a run and made a super
stop of a grounder at second base. Kate Cullen was sharp at third.
Katie Williams was the player of the game for a stellar job at
third base. Riley Kessler singled in two runs, Lizzie Miller had two
singles and three runs batted in and Catherine Horner pitched well.
Anna Brenner hit a grand slam for American Kryptonite.
Muller Commercial Masonry 11, Locker Realty 9: Maddy Morey had two
runs batted in and a double. Olivia Warner had a home run and did a
great job at catcher and first base. Sidney Smith did a good job
preventing any stolen bases while playing second base.
SENIOR SOFTBALL
Cushman and Wakefield 12, Burlison and Luostari 4: The Mixed
Berries took an early 5-0 lead and held on for the victory. Abby Ulf
hit a home run in the first inning and did an outstanding job at
catching.
Karleen Cordova pitched well and scored three times. Other key
plays were made by Olivia Tucker and Katie Morey. Joanna Burlison hit
a triple and Caitlin Deering had a double.
Hennon Surveying and Mapping 6, Clerkin Architects 2: Both teams
played very well. Anna Applebaum, Jessica Ferri, Sarah Gibson and
Laura McQuay all had hits and scored for the Lucky Charms. Kirby
Comstock had a great at-bat and scored a run.
Burlison and Luostari 29, Sanfilippo 4: The Rebels were led by
Jessica Morris, Lacy Green, Julia Bywater and Chloe Turner, among
others. Rebel catcher Lauren Johnson hit three grand slams, two of
which were in one inning.
Cecil Saydah 16, California 6: Kelly Streeter pitched a great game
for the Tsunamis. Emily Filippone and Lucy Filippone each had two big
hits. Shannon Streeter and Emily Poole each reached base twice.
Charlotte Allan was strong behind the plate and Stephanie McNamara
made a terrific play at third base for a key out.

10-AND-UNDER SOFTBALL
Sparks 7, Angels 3: The Sparks were led by Breanna Klein and Elyse
Borst, who combined to pitch five scoreless innings. Julia Warden
also pitched two excellent innings for the Sparks.
Elyse had two hits and four runs batted in. The Sparks had several
fine defensive plays turned in by catcher Kristina Gustovich, third
baseman Mackenzie Hunt, shortstop Frances Stupakis, right fielder
Mackenzie Hobby, left fielder Kelsey Crowther, center fielder Claire
Nolan and second baseman Alexa Sasmita.
Megan Martin and Kelsey Butler allowed only one run in six innings
for the Angels.
Sparks 12, Pat Harris Plumbing 12: Mackenzie Hunt had a big game
for the Sparks, hitting a grand slam and a triple. Breanna Klein
pitched two scoreless innings for the Sparks. Teammate Frances
Stupakis had three hits and was the player of the game.
Divya Goel, Danny Lingua, Cole Lamason, Katie Lamason, Mary
Trienen and Caroline Trienen all played well for Pat Harris Plumbing.
Mobile Storage 9, Kiwanis 7: Pitchers Taylor Dorsett and Helene
Cook did a great job to lead their team to the victory. Megan Siepler
led Mobile Storage’s offense by going three for three with two runs
batted in. Dorsett also hit a home run.
Kaitlin Fitzpatrick, Emily Cristiano and Kelly Nelson all drove in
key runs. Allison Lucy and Alysha Bermudez each scored a run.
8-AND-UNDER SOFTBALL
Jerez Mortgage 7, Dilbeck 3: Rebecca Pereira, Molly Burke and
Kelly Berg all had strong singles, and Marleina Taix hit a home run
for Dilbeck. Ashley Lund and Pereira pitched great games.
Sarah Lund and Berg made great plays in the outfield to prevent
Jerez Mortgage runners from advancing.
Abbie Potter struck out three for Jerez Mortgage. Melissa Minter
and Rachelle Cruz had a double apiece. Cruz also hit a grand slam.
INTERLEAGUE SOFTBALL
MINORS
Shakey’s 15, Pizazz 14: Kylie Morales’ triple and double led
Shakey’s 12-hit attack. She also drove in three runs in her team’s
come-from-behind win May 20 at Scholl Canyon.
Jennifer Nelson, Cynthia Hom, Renee Lawson and Jessica Chafino
scored two times apiece. Katie Powers walked in the bottom of the
fifth inning with the bases loading, allowing Lawson to score the
winning run.
