Woman claiming to be prophet arrested
NORTHWEST GLENDALE -- A Mission Viejo woman claiming to be a
prophet was arrested Saturday on suspicion of trespassing, according
to police.
Abimbola Mutiat Yusuf, 36, was arrested on suspicion of
trespassing Saturday afternoon when she tried to gain access to
KABC’s studios at 500 Circle Seven Drive to talk to anchorman Marc
Brown, Glendale Police spokeswoman Officer Leticia Chang said.
Yusuf had become a familiar face at the security gate by that time
-- according to reports, she earned a place in the studio’s guard
notebook of people to watch out for in recent months.
On Saturday, Yusuf told the security guard she wanted to talk to
Brown, but was told she needed to make an appointment, reports said.
Yusuf began to “ramble” about her white cloak, and told the guard she
was a prophet, the report said.
Because she’d been warned at least three or four times before not
to appear at the gate to gain access to the studio, the guard
detained her under private person’s arrest and called Glendale
Police, the report said.
