Red Cross project to help out Armenia
GLENDALE -- For just $5 or $10, residents can provide packages
containing school and hygiene supplies, or a first-aid kit, that will
be sent to Armenia through a new program sponsored by the American
Red Cross.
A recently formed collaboration between the American and Armenian
Red Cross organizations aims to reduce Armenian childhood mortality
and improve and increase health services in villages in Geharkunik,
Tavush, Lori and Shirak with the Armenian Humanitarian Project.
The donations can be made in person to the Glendale-Crescenta
Valley Red Cross chapter offices from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday
through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. The
donations can also be sent by mail to the American Red Cross, 1501 S.
Brand Blvd., Glendale, CA 91204.
Checks to go toward the project should be noted as for the
Armenian Humanitarian Project Fund.
The chapter also can accept credit card donations at 243-3121.
