Six people arrested by Glendale Police vice/narcotics detectives
pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges ranging from possession of
several types of drugs for sale to possession of several weapons.
Randy Ward, 28, David James Degree, 31, Rene Maria Saxton, 51 --
all of Sherman Oaks -- as well as Van Nuys residents Kim Marie Ward,
41, and Jonathan Renold Airale, 27, and Lisa Dugum, 24, of
Northridge, were charged Wednesday with possessing marijuana,
methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine for sale, along with possession
of six handguns and assault rifles. The six people were being held
Wednesday on bail ranging from $50,000 to $3.1 million, according to
jail records.
Glendale Police, working with several other agencies, served
search warrants on homes that Ward and his sister, Kim, owned in Van
Nuys and Sherman Oaks. Officials seized three pounds of
methamphetamine, 18 pounds of marijuana, 44 pounds of cocaine and an
undetermined amount of ecstasy, Glendale Police vice/narcotics Sgt.
Tom Lorenz said. About $200,005 in cash and six handguns and assault
rifles were also seized, he said.
Police believe Ward was selling narcotics in the city, according
to a tip vice/narcotics detectives received, Lorenz said.
