Tologs struggled out of the blocks, but rebounded in time to post a

convincing 23-25, 25-14, 25-7, 25-11 Mission League road victory

Kelly Smiland led Flintridge Sacred Heart (8-8, 5-1 in league) --

which moved into first place in league following Sherman Oaks Notre

Dame’s (10-3, 4-2) five-game victory Thursday at North Hollywood

Harvard-Westlake (12-7, 4-2) -- with 14 kills and 16 digs, Katie

Kriste tallied 11 kills, 12 digs, five aces and three blocks, and

Brittany Esser had 39 assists, 13 digs, three blocks and two aces.

Amy Matakovich contributed five kills and seven digs, Kelly

Herbert had three kills and seven blocks and Megan Connell added

three kills and four blocks for Nancy Tinkham’s squad, which also

received great defensive efforts from Caitlin Withers (17 digs) and

Gaby Lacayo (11 digs and four aces).

Lacayo served 11 consecutive points in the third game for

Flintridge Sacred Heart, which is scheduled to compete in the L.A.

Marlborough Tournament today.
