CITY TO RE-BID RECYCLING CENTER WHAT HAPPENED...

CITY TO RE-BID RECYCLING CENTER

WHAT HAPPENED

The council directed city staff to revise a request for proposals

for designing and building the Glendale Recycling Center at 540 W.

Chevy Chase Drive.

WHAT IT MEANS

City staff estimated the project will cost $1.5 million, but the

lowest bid on the project was $1.98 million. Rather than accept that

bid, the council instructed staff to use a new request that requires

developers to bid separately on the various buildings in the project,

which would allow for the project to fit within the budget.

THE VOTE

The council voted 4-1 to rebid with the new request for proposals,

with Councilman Frank Quintero dissenting.
