Nima Fazeli of Glendale was named to the fall dean’s list at American

University in Washington, D.C. Nima is a sophomore majoring in

communication, legal studies, economics and government in the School

of Public Affairs at the university.

Shannon Leigh Charles, daughter and stepdaughter of Christine and

Donald Kunz; and granddaughter of Ruth Charles of Glendale and the

late Dick Charles, received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from

the College of William and Mary. She plans to continue her education

in graduate school, pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy.

Farnaz Parvini, daughter of Alex Parvini of Burbank and Zagra Negm

of Glendale, was named to the fall dean’s list of Emory College, the

undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta.

Kristin Talamantes, the daughter of Jess and Sandy Talamantes of

Burbank, was named to the dean’s list and was inducted into the Phi

Eta Sigma national honor society at Mercer University in Macon, Ga.

She is attending Mercer on a Division 1 softball scholarship and

is a freshman majoring in business and economics.

Kristin is a 2003 graduate of Burbank High School.

Santa Barbara. Kyung is majoring in pre-business economics.

Yana Chuvaldzhyan of Glendale was named to the dean’s list at UC

Santa Barbara. Yana is majoring in pre-biology.

Christine Yehmoe Goo of Glendale was named to the dean’s list at

UC Santa Barbara.

Daniel Joon Hong of Glendale was named to the dean’s list at UC

Santa Barbara.

Patrick Thomas Blong of La Crescenta was named to the dean’s list

at UC Santa Barbara.

Jillian Lane Cohen of La Crescenta was named to the dean’s list

at UC Santa Barbara. Jillian is majoring in communication and

psychology.
