Love songs theme of Pops Concert
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The Summer Singers and many soloists are
combining their talents for “The Many Faces of Love” during the 21st
annual Pops Concert at La Canada Presbyterian Church.
Albert Eddy directs this year’s show of love songs at 8 tonight,
Saturday and Sunday.
The selection of songs range from musicals like “Carousel” to the
Beatles’ “And I Love Her.”
Tom Burrows will play a piano medley of love songs, and Kemp
Smeal, the church pianist/organist, will play his arrangement of
“Love is a Many Splendered Thing.”
The proceeds from refreshments will be used for charitable
projects.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. The church is at 626
Foothill Blvd., La Canada Flintridge. Free child care is provided.

Origin of Bible discussed during series
LA CRESCENTA -- Jim Larson and Lee Cook will present a summer
seminar titled “Turning Points in Christian History” from 6:30 to
7:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning June 30 to July 21 at La Crescenta
Presbyterian Church.
Some of the questions to be answered are “From Where Did the Bible
Come From?” “Why Do We Use the Word Trinity?” and “Who Are the Most
Respected and Wisest Teachers Who Lived?”

Self-awakening seminar scheduled
GLENDALE -- Religious leader Jay Scott Neale will present a free
self-awakening seminar, “Realizing Your Potential,” at 7 tonight for
members of the Religious Science Church of Glendale.
Neale will talk about the keys to instant healing and how to be
healthy and wealthy minded.
Neale is founding pastor of the Tri-City Church of Religious
Science in Fremont.
The congregation meets at the YWCA, 735 E. Lexington Ave.,
Glendale.
