CV Soccer Club Girls’ Under 14 Team Earns ‘Gold’ Bracket

The Crescenta Valley Soccer Club Girls’ Under 14 team was recently seeded in the Fall 2004 season “Gold” bracketing (U15), making it the only girls’ team in that age bracekt from the Crescenta, San Gabriel and San Fernando valleys to earn the coveted spot.

There are 124 teams competing in that age bracket in the Coast Soccer League, but only the top 12 teams earn a Gold bracketing.

This CVSC team is comprised of players from throughout the area.

Crescenta Valley High School is represented by goalie Emma Dearman, midfielder Hannah Green, striker/midfielder Richelle Mascaro and defender Melania Moradian.

La Canada High School is represented by midfielder Jenelle Rotenberg, striker Nancy Aveysan and goal keeper Anya Rosen.

Glendale’s Elena Torres (defender) and Sharis Harootun (defender) are three-year starters.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is represented by defender Alexa Ekman, midfielder Elise Franklin and striker Stephanie Stumbaugh.

The team is rounded out by Westridge’s Rien Addis (striker/midfielder), Sun Valley’s Annie Brock (defender) and Campbell Hall’s Julia Bruckner (midfielder/striker).

La Cañada Flintridge resident Nancy Aveysan was recently honored by being selected to the Southern District’s Olympic Development Program pool.

Aveysan and her ODP teammates are traveling to Idaho for Regional play this week.
