Two men were arrested at a La Crescenta house early Sunday morning after neighbors reported hearing gun shots.
Danny Rodriguez, 24, of La Crescenta, was arrested by Glendale police at his home in the 4000 block of Liberty Road on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sales, a felony charge, and Jairo Emerson Flores, 19, of Sunland, was arrested on suspicion of burglary after police responded to a call that shots and yelling were heard from the house at about 4 a.m.
According to the police report, officers heard two males shouting expletives upon the officers’ arrival at the house. They handcuffed Rodriguez, Flores, and a female resident of the house and took them to separate police vehicles for questioning.
With varying stories, all agreed they had earlier been at a party in Baldwin Hills, where Rodriguez and Flores, both disc jockeys, were rapping offensive lyrics against each other. During the verbal battle, the two had gotten into a physical fight and all three left the party.
Flores showed up at the La Crescenta home and spoke outside with the woman, also a resident of the La Crescenta house, until Rodriguez allegedly came outside, asked Flores to leave and pointed a rifle at Flores to intimidate Flores into leaving, the report continues.
According to the report, Rodriguez fired at least one round into the ground.
While searching Rodriguez, police allegedly found in his pocket a baggy holding three baggies containing marijuana and another containing generic Xanax pills.
After a search of the house, the report states police allegedly found a heating lamp, a thermostat, fertilizer and potting soil in a bedroom, marijuana seeds and leaves in another bedroom and a drying marijuana plant in an outbuilding.
According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Web site, Rodriguez was released at 8:30 a.m. Sunday after posting bond for $30,000 bail. Flores was released at Tuesday night after posting bond for $50,000 bail. They were arraigned on felony charges at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Glendale Municipal Court.
Paramedics treated Rodriguez on the property for a laceration on his face.
