Union Bank promotes two in local office

GLENDALE -- Union Bank of California has promoted two employees at

its customer service center in Glendale.

Juan Carlos Molina and Greg Kirkland have been promoted to senior

vice presidents within Union Bank’s retirement plans services

division.

Prior to Union Bank, Molina was a manager for pension underwriting

for Transamerica Corp. Kirkland previously worked with Bankers Trust

as a participant service specialist.

Dreamworks shares surge on opening day

GLENDALE -- Dreamworks Animation SKG shares took off after the

company’s initial public offering Friday. After pricing its shares at

$28 per share, the shares opened at $39.50 and closed their first

publicly traded day at $38.75.

The $4.1-billion company wants to raise more than $700 million in

order to fund an aggressive release schedule of two animated feature

films a year.

Dreamworks Animation develops and produces computer-generated and

animated feature films.

Body Shop in Galleria switches locations

GLENDALE -- The Body Shop in the Glendale Galleria has moved to a

new spot on the lower level.

The new store features an Invent Your Scent area, where customers

can select and blend from a collection of nine fragrances.

The store also features the company’s new store design, which

executives say showcases a lighter and fresher look.
