YWCA Women of Heart nominations sought

The YWCA of Glendale is seeking nominations for its Women of Heart

and Excellence and Jane O’Connor Community Volunteer Service awards.

Each year, the YWCA of Glendale honors women of character and

integrity living or working in the area who have contributed

significantly to the betterment of women, girls and the community

through their service, work and leadership.

The organization also recognizes one high school senior in the

area for her volunteer service in the community.

This year’s recipients will be honored at the YWCA’s annual Legacy

Luncheon on May 19 at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. Event

chairwoman is Debbie Hinckley of Glendale.

Last year’s Heart and Excellence winners were Wanda Bistagne,

former Burbank mayor Mary Lou Howard, Frieda Jordan, Louise Lewis and

Jean Maluccio.

Erika Solomon, a senior at Glendale High School at the time,

received the Jane O’Connor Community Volunteer Service Award.
