SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- Pizza lovers in Glendale and Burbank can savor
their first good deed for the new year by ordering Domino’s Pizza on
Jan. 1.
Tim Behm, owner of six Domino’s stores in the Glendale and Burbank
area, will be donating $1 for every order placed Saturday. The
beneficiary will be The Center for Grief and Loss for Children, a
local organization that helps bereaved children and their parents
overcome the loss of a family member.
Each month, Behm chooses a charity for the fundraiser. This is the
third month his Domino’s stores have raised funds for the center.
“I’ve got two kids with cystic fibrosis, and I kind of realize
there’s a lot of other needs out there for everyone, but especially
for kids,” Behm said.
He expects to collect about $1,000 for the charity on Saturday.
“Party holidays like Super Bowl day will be a good one,” Behm
said.
The center relies heavily on donations, said co-founder Joan
Etherton, and Domino’s fundraisers are a big help.
“Tim is just a wonderful person with a big heart. If you’re going
to buy pizza, buy it from Tim,” Etherton said.
On Tuesday, she received a call from a social worker at a local
hospital regarding two children whose mother had just been killed in
a car crash.
“I explained to the social worker what to say, what to do and
where to send them. That’s what we do here at the Center for Grief
and Loss for Children.”
