CV Players Named MVPs, Hidalgo is Coach of Year

Rachael Rigamat and Kristin McLaughlin were named Most Valuable Players in girls soccer and water polo, respectively, and Cesar Hidalgo was chosen Coach of Year in girls soccer in recently released All Pacific League selections for winter sports.
In girls soccer, Rigamat shared the MVP award with Arcadia’s Aartin Jain, but Hidalgo was the only one named for his award.
First Team choices included Laura Calabro, Naomi Ehrlich, Sydney Vermillion and Elizabeth Villa. Named to the Second Team were Jasmine Abghari, Melissa McCauley, Sara Peters and Kelli Wirth.
Honorable Mentions were Astrid Castaneda, Melissa Dacher and Kelly Frey.
McLaughlin will not share the MVP award in girls water polo. Other who made the All-League teams included First Team choices Rebecca Kandilian, Minah Kim and Jessie Sullivan. Picked for the Second Team were Alice Gustafson and Ashley Masters.
In boys’ basketball, Zack Garcia and Bryan Longpre made the Second Team.
Girls’ basketball selections included First Team pick Lindsey Chessum and Second Team choices Jessica Forster and Kristen Gibbert.
In boys’ soccer, Nick Reid made the First Team, Taichi Yoshimura was chosen for the Second Team and Michael Farah was an Honorable Mention.
