End of school year means a few shindigs

As the school year winds down, schools are putting together their

final meetings, carnivals, end-of-year parties, graduations and

assemblies.

Let’s take a last look at the 2004-05 school year in the Crescenta

Valley cluster:

DUNSMORE ELEMENTARY

Dunsmore PTA has a new board: Dee Reik, Wendy Hart, Maria Eng,

Vickie Warren, Rain Gibney, Melinda Absy, Suzette Melko, Dawn

Jaunzik, Cynthie Martin, Karen Van Treese, Amanda Granier, Michelle

Ellison and Sally Foote have volunteered their time to serve next

year.

The last PTA meeting of the year is at 7 p.m. June 16 in the

auditorium. Teachers will be present from each grade to talk to

parents about what to expect next year.

MONTE VISTA ELEMENTARY

The PTA installation dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. June 10 at the

home of Monna Johnson.

The new PTA board members include President Monna Johnson, first

vice president Traci Lakin, second vice president Bobbie Brenneisen,

third vice president Debbie Thompson, fourth vice president Stephanie

Shintaku, fifth vice president Allison Wilt, sixth vice president

Mary Nolte, secretary Vera Miro, treasurer Beth Colcord, auditor

Kimberly Ward, historian Connie Janson and parliamentarian Lisa

Palazzolo.

The volunteer breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the

cafeteria to thank all the super folks who have given many hours of

time and effort to the school.

LINCOLN ELEMENTARY

Special thanks to outgoing PTA President Kim Arnold for her

inspirational service to the school, and thanks to Deann Kilgour for

volunteering to serve as the 2005-06 president.

Don’t miss the Book Fair during school hours on June 7 through

June 9, Egg Drop at 7 p.m. on June 14 on the playground and

foundation’s first annual mom/son olympics at 5:30 p.m. June 10 at

Camp Max Straus.

FREMONT ELEMENTARY

Fremont Elementary executive board members for 2005-06 are

President Leslie Wallace-Trendacosta; first vice president Renee

Brandt; second vice president Terri Musso; third vice president Anne

Beachey-Kemp; secretary Maxine Haggerty; treasurer Kim Hotti; auditor

Katherine Wallace; historian Liz Schetina; and parliamentarian Maria

Bonino-Britsch.

The next PTA meeting will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the

auditorium, and the Volunteer Appreciation Tea is at 2:35 p.m. in the

auditorium

Don’t miss the PTA slide show assemblies at 12:45 and 1:30 p.m.

June 16, in the auditorium where historian Aida Mousessian will

delight kids with her special program.

VALLEY VIEW ELEMENTARY

Valley View will have its annual talent show at 6:30 p.m. June 9

following a short PTA meeting in the cafeteria.

All are welcome to come see the talented students of Valley View.

A reminder to former Valley View students graduating from

Crescenta Valley High School this year that a scholarship is awarded

to an outstanding senior. Information is available in the counseling

office.

LA CRESCENTA ELEMENTARY

The theme “We Fit Together Like a Puzzle” will be celebrated at

the next PTA meeting at 7 p.m. June 8.

Bring your favorite dish to share for the potluck dinner during

the meeting.

CLARK MAGNET HIGH

The Clark PTSA executive board for the 2005-06 year was installed

at the associa- tion meeting on Thursday.

They are looking forward to helping with the senior night activity

on June 9 and graduation on June 23.

CRESCENTA VALLEY HIGH

Baccalaureate ceremonies will be at 4 p.m. June 12 in the

auditorium.
