CARTOON TOUR TO STOP IN GLENDALE
The Glendale Parks and Recreation division has partnered with
Cartoon Network to help bring the network’s “Get Animated” tour to
the city tomorrow at Maple Park Community Center, 820 E. Maple St. at
2:30 p.m. The 30-city tour is a pro-social, pro-lifestyle program
designed to motivate, energize and educate children 6 to 14 about
healthy living choices, said Glendale spokesman Ritch Wells.
Tour activities will include a basketball challenge, wall-climbing
tower, hockey maze and jump rope and hula hoop activities. All events
will be themed around Cartoon Network characters.
“We are pleased to partner with Cartoon Network to help educate
our community’s children about healthy living choices,” Wells said.

Youth orchestra presents finale
The Glendale Youth Orchestra, conducted by Brad Keimach, will
performs its third and final concert of the 2004-05 season Tuesday at
7:30 p.m. at the Alex Theatre.
The program will include music by Verdi and Beethoven. The winners
of the Glendale Youth Orchestra’s concerto competition will also be
announced. It is suitable for ages 6 and older. For more information,

Summer workshop for teens scheduled
Teens in search of summer work can get help with writing a resume
and interviewing techniques during the Glendale Central Library’s
workshop for teens. The workshop will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the
library’s second-floor learning lab, 222 E. Harvard St. Refreshments
