Caregiver vs. Caretaker
I have never understood how people can think that a “caregiver” and a “caretaker” are one in the same.
A caregiver, “gives care” to the living.
A caretaker, “takes care” of the dead.
As English is one of the hardest languages to learn let alone to understand, these two words speak for themselves. They are spelled as they sound and have a precise meaning when defined. Another thing we can learn from this is to know the words we choose to communicate with one another ... for communication is the beginning of understanding.
Thank you for letting me share this “FYI.” I am now one stress less.
