Pretrial hearing for Alvarez delayed
A pretrial hearing for the man accused of parking his SUV in the
path of a Metrolink passenger train in January and causing a deadly
crash was delayed until next month.
Juan Manuel Alvarez, 26, is due to appear in Los Angeles Superior
Court on Aug. 26, prosecutor Alan Jackson said.
Eleven people were killed and 200 were injured when a Metrolink
passenger train slammed into Alvarez’s Jeep Cherokee, causing it to
derail and collide with other trains.
