Police search for robbery suspects
The Glendale Police Department is looking for a man linked to a
July robbery at the Colorado Street Zankou Chicken restaurant.
The man entered the popular restaurant July 22 at about 8:30 p.m.,
jumped the counter with a revolver in his hand and emptied the
register, Glendale Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
Described as a Latino, 25 to 35 years old, 5-foot-4-inches tall,
200 pounds with short hair, a mustache and wearing prescription
wire-rimmed glasses, the suspect was last seen that night walking
eastbound on Orange Grove Avenue from Verdugo Road, police said.
Anyone with any information can contact Glendale Det. Jeff Newton
at (818) 548-3987, or call the anonymous Crime Stoppers line at (818)
507-STOP.
A $1,000 reward could be available for those with information.
Alleged bank robber strikes again
The suspect who allegedly robbed the Bank of Orange County in
Glendale on Aug. 17 and eluded police, despite a nine-hour search
effort that day, hit another bank in West Los Angeles Monday, police
said.
Glendale Police are still unaware of which bank it was and how
much was stolen.
The suspect, described as a white male in his 50s, 6-foot-1-inch
to 6-foot-2-inches tall, with a thin to medium build, wearing a white
dress shirt, white tennis shoes and jeans, is being dubbed by the FBI
as the “Armed Old Man Bandit.”
When he allegedly robbed the Glendale bank, at an estimated $2,000
loss, he was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, Glendale Police
said.
