Kathleen (Carlsen) Hargrave

Kathleen (Carlsen) Hargrave, youngest triplet and beloved daughter of Irma and Gerhard Carlsen, was born Oct. 24, 1956 at St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank and passed away Jan. 17, 2006. She was only 49.

In 1965, Kathy moved with her family from Eagle Rock to La Crescenta, where she attended local schools and area functions. The Carlsen triplets graduated from Crescenta Valley High School Class of 1974. After starting her career, Kathy met and married Doug Hargrave in April 1992 and the couple moved to Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Kathy was active in community activities there and helped support her sons’ schools whenever possible.

Kathy’s surviving family members are her husband, Doug, sons -- Jake and Josh and stepson, Jordan, all of Rancho Santa Margarita; her parents, Irma and Gerhard Carlsen of La Crescenta; her eldest brother, Erland Carlsen and his family -- Judy, Heather and Aaron of Camarillo, Calif.; her eldest triplet brother, Frank Carlsen and his family -- Debbie and Eric of La Crescenta; her middle triplet, Suzy Saetta and her family -- Steve, Sophia, Sequoia and Skye of Fairhaven, Vt.; her youngest sister, Rosemary Ryals of Red Bluff, Calif.; cousins from Northern California; and other aunts, uncles and cousins still living in Germany.

Many family and friends said their last good-byes to Kathy at a funeral service held Monday, Jan. 23.

Kathy was loved by everyone whose lives she touched and her sparkling eyes, sunny smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all.
