Behind 4-0 in its Pacific League match against host Pasadena Muir on Jan. 26, the CV boys’ varsity soccer team fought back with three quick goals in the second half to close the gap to 4-3.

However, the Mustangs held off the Falcons to defeat them, 5-4, and to drop them to 7-11-1 overall and to 1-4-1 in league.

CV hosted Glendale Hoover at the Glendale Sports Complex on Wednesday and traveled to Pasadena yesterday (Thursday) for league matches, but no results were available at press time.

The Falcons will visit Wilson Middle School next Tuesday for a 3:30 p.m. league contest against Glendale and will host Arcadia in a 2:30 p.m. league tussle next Friday at the Glendale Sports Complex.

The CV goals were scored by Rigo Cardenas, John Kim, Alex Gruenberg and Gabriel Ramirez. Cardenas also had two assists.
