GLENDALE ? A Glendale man was arrested on suspicion of hit and run Thursday for allegedly knocking over a traffic signal on Glenoaks Boulevard then fleeing the scene, police said.

Aram Grigoryan, 20, of Glendale was allegedly driving eastbound on Glenoaks Boulevard in a black Infiniti G35 just before noon when he attempted to make a right turn at Geneva Street and lost control of the car, Glendale Police Lt. Carl Povilaitis said.

The right hand turn lane was closed for construction work, he said.

Grigoryan, who police believe was traveling at an unsafe speed, allegedly struck a traffic signal pole, and was then picked up by Khoren Batmanyan, 19, of North Hollywood, who was driving in another car, Povilaitis said.

The two fled the scene, but were stopped by police shortly after. Neither were injured, Povilaitis said

Batmanyan was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy.
