The Adult Education Program at Temple Sinai of Glendale will offer Kabbalah II — Mystical Masters of Safed taught by Rabbi Rick Schechter.
The three-part class, beginning Wednesday, May 17, is free and open to the public. Rabbi Schechter began by teaching an overview of Kabbalah to the Temple and community last fall, and will now present a more in-depth study of Jewish Mysticism, although no prior attendance in required.
Rabbi Schechter will delve into how Jewish Mysticism blossomed in 16th century Galilee and will explore the contributions of important figures in Kabbalah — Joseph Karo, Moses Cordovero and Isaac Luria. He’ll reference Kabbalah’s most important text, the 13th century Zohar, and discuss how we can apply Kabbalistic principles to our lives today.
Advance registration is requested. All are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions which will be on three consecutive Wednesdays: May 17, 24 and 31 at 7:30 p.m. Call 246-8101.
