First Baptist Church of La Crescenta:Pastor Derbyshire Leaving For New Post in Colorado

The First Baptist Church of La Crescenta has announced that it has regretfully accepted the resignation of its senior pastor Rick Derbyshire.

Pastor Derbyshire has accepted a call to a Baptist church in Littleton. Colo. In addition, his wife, Sue Derbyshire, has submitted her resignation as executive director of Avenues Pregnancy Center in Glendale so she can accompany her husband to his new position in Colorado.

Pastor Derbyshire submitted his resignation at the church’s board meeting last month. His final sermon was last Sunday, and when he finished he was given a standing ovation from the congregation in appreciation of his three years of service to the La Crescenta church.

There will be a reception in the church social hall for the Derbyshires this Sunday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. The church is at 4441 La Crescenta Ave. For more information, call the church office at 570-839.
