PTA NEWS:An anti-drug message in Red Ribbon Week

Share

It’s time for Red Ribbon Week, a drug-awareness campaign in schools nationwide.

Roosevelt Middle School offer these five reasons to say “No” to drugs: drugs and alcohol can kill you; if you get caught with them, you’ll go to jail; drug and alcohol users do poorly in school; drug and alcohol users hurt other people; and drugs and alcohol mess up your body.

A Veterans Day assembly is Nov. 3 honoring guests from various wars.

The school’s food drive runs Nov. 6 to 10. The PTSA meeting with Paul Royer drew an appreciative audience who learned skills for dealing with teenagers.

The recent “Walk-to-School Parade” involved students, parents, Glendale Police, Walk Los Angeles representatives, Glendale High School cheerleaders and district personnel supporting efforts to get students and families to walk to school.

Next PTA meeting is 7 p.m. Nov. 6 in the auditorium.
