Calvary Chapel of the Foothills:Calvary Chapel of the Foothills Announces Events

Calvary Chapel of the Foothills is hosting a variety of events for the foothill community. They are located at 663 1/2 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge (behind T.J. Max).

  • Friday Night Life — Free Youth Concert
  • Friday, March 16, Calvary Chapel will host a Christian alternative rock concert for area youth. Two bands, Kerygma and Hallowed, will perform beginning at 6:30 p.m. Pizza and drinks are available, price has been paid.

    Kerygma is a worship band that is influenced by the music of from Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Kutless, Newsboys, U2, David Crowder, Daughtry, and Godspeed. They have used their talents to share the Gospel message throughout the city of Los Angeles through their music. Be ready to rock out and worship God. MySpace URL: www.myspace.com/kerygmaonline.

    Hallowed is a local faith-based band that posses a style of their own. Inspired by sharing their love for the Lord, they desire to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

  • The Bema
  • Michael Sewell will be performing “The Bema” on Sunday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. For this Sunday, there will be one service only. Child care is available.

    Sewell is a talented actor, writer, and vocalist who formerly performed on New York’s off-Broadway stages and took on various roles in television day-time drama. After giving his heart fully to Jesus Christ, he began to search for ways to glorify God through his life and talents. Hence, the musical drama, “Heart In A Box” was created, which Sewell has traveled with throughout the United States and parts of Europe for the last five years, preaching the powerful message of the Gospel through this inspiring musical drama based on his own testimony.

    He has subsequently written four additional dramatical plays, Silver Cord, Hope Chest, The Bema, and Divine Comeback for an Impertinent Planet.
