“Bus Stop” by William Inge continues at 8 p.m. tonight and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Glendale Community College Auditorium Mainstage Theatre. The romantic comedy takes place during a howling snowstorm when a busload of weary travelers including a chanteuse, a headstrong cowboy and a bitter drunken professor, must take cover at a roadside diner until morning. A Noise Within’s “Man of La Mancha” opens at 8 p.m. today at the theater, 234 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Directed by artistic co-director Julia Rodriguez Elliott, the play tells the story of Don Quixote as a play within a play performed by Miguel de Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as they await trial by the Spanish Inquisition. SUNDAY

The Doctors House Museum is showing an exhibit of vintage needle art from 2 to 4 p.m. every Sunday in March and April at the museum in Brand Park, 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale. Period examples of quilting, lace making, embroidery, needlepoint, rug making, dress making, knitting and crocheting are on exhibit and docents will demonstrate their needle artistry so visitors can see how some of these decorative items are created. Duo pianists M’lou Dietzer and Penny Foster will present an annual benefit recital at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Verdugo Hills, 4451 Dunsmore Ave., La Crescenta. The 14-member ensemble from Concordia University in Irvine, directed by Herb Geisler, will present classical, sacred and popular compositions by Bach, Tchaikovsky and McChesney among other composers in a return visit at 7 p.m. to Salem Lutheran Church, 1211 N. The Irish Center of Southern California based in Glendale will have its 13th annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner dance beginning with society time at 6 p.m. and dance at 7:15 p.m. at the Hilton Glendale, 100 Glenoaks Blvd., Glendale. The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra will be led by Ignat Solzhenitsyn from the piano at 7:30 p.m. at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Solzhenitsyn is the music director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. The program is Mozart’s Divertimento in D major for strings, K. 136 and Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K. 595 and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A major, Italian, Op. 90. Margaret Batjer, violinist, will lead the Divertimento from the first chair. Solzhenitsyn will play/conduct the concerto, and will conduct the Mendelssohn.
