Montrose-Verdugo Chamber of Commerce:A Great Day to Golf

The Chamber wants to thank past president Rick Dinger of Crescenta Valley Insurance who chaired another very successful golf tournament that raised funds for our scholarships. We also are grateful to our many tournament sponsors, especially those at the major level: Arroyo Investment Group, Montrose Travel, Bog Bob Merette -past champion, Manpower International, Inc., and Realty Executives of the Foothills.

Rick Dinger reported that, “The 10th Annual Montrose City Golf Championship was played on a beautiful day in the foothills. There were 70 players attempting to win the opportunity to wear the green jacket and call themselves ‘champion’ but it was former Glendale firefighter Mike Haney that shot one under par and was called champion at the end of the day.

“Other flight winners were Keith Kinsel, Virgil Diner and Mark McClure. The 2007 team championship was captured by Ampro Staffing led by Greg Forrest. The proceeds from this event go directly to scholarships for graduating seniors from Crescenta Valley High School and/or Clark Magnet that have shown excellence in community involvement, at their place of employment, school activities and academics. There are at least three scholarships awarded each year...”
