PTA NEWS:New board at Hoover High

The Hoover High School PTSA board members and chairmen for 2006-07 were honored by outgoing PTSA President Susan Yee. She presented thoughtful gifts and sincerely thanked everyone who volunteered during her two years of presidential service.

The new board was sworn in by Hoover parent Pam Ellis at the installation potluck meeting in June, according to in-coming President Kathy Van Houten.

The Hoover staff appreciation luncheon was a great success, thanks to the cooperative effort of all the Hoover Parent groups, including the Armenian Parent Group, Korean Parent Group, Football Booster Club, Hoover Groove, Latinos Unidos Parent Assn. and Hoover PTSA. Their combined generosity provided an array of foods for more than 150 staff members at Hoover High School.

Summer school and summer sports are in full swing. Hoover is getting ready for major construction to begin in the fall. Kim Kong and Ipolani Lot will serve as co-chairwomen for the 50th Hoover Tour of Homes.

All parents and students are encouraged to volunteer to make this event the best yet. For more information for future events, call the school office at (818) 242-6801.
